Micheal Jordan: « I wold never say that i’m the greatest player » (video)

LeBron James believes that he became the Greatest Basketball Player of All-Time in his mind when he completed the most improbable comeback in basketball history by topping the Warriors after down 3-1 in the 2016 NBA Finals. Michael Jordan states that he would never make the claim to be the greatest.

A while back, Jordan sat down with another Michael, Wilbon of The Undefeated, and stated that he doesn’t want the Tiel of the greatest because he never had the chance to play against Wilt Chamberlain, Jerry West and other legends that laced up the kicks before him.

“What everybody is saying I am, I never had the chance to compete against other legends that was prior to me,” Jordan shared.

“I would love to have played against them but I never did. For you to say that I’m better than him, I mean it’s your opinion. It’s their opinion. I accept that as their opinion. If you ask me, I would never say that I’m the greatest player.”

MJ’s statement of not being able to play against the greats can also be attributed to those legends that came after him, Black Mamba Kobe Bryant when he donned the number 24, Kevin Durant and most notably, the self-proclaimed GOAT, LeBron James.

Some may say that LeBron’s claim for himself is how you should feel about yourself. MJ feels otherwise. The raging debate for who is the best to ever do it will continue for decades to come.
