LeBron James and Michael Jordan were both recognized for their accomplishments in the league by Doc Rivers as he offered his opinion on the GOAT debate. Many people now believe that LeBron James’ amazing longevity may make him the GOAT as he continues to add to his historic career by performing at a level we have never seen before at the age of 38 and in his 20th season.

LeBron James has yet to match Michael Jordan’s accomplishments even after spending so much time in the NBA. Depending on who you ask, they are both among the greatest, and Philadelphia 76ers coach Doc Rivers had the ideal thing to say about how we should see the two legends.

Doc remarked, “I think he’s going to have the greatest career of all time. I think he’s already had it. And that’s not … I think Michael [Jordan] is the greatest of all time, but that doesn’t take anything away from LeBron. LeBron’s had the greatest career”

Given the generational and team distinctions that exist between eras, it’s perfectly acceptable that James doesn’t have the same resume as Jordan in terms of awards. But when we examine the cold, hard numbers, it’s clear that LeBron hasn’t yet caught up to Jordan’s six championships, six Finals MVPs, five MVPs, DPOY, multiple honors for leading several stats and, especially, ten scoring titles.
