LeBron James: Lakers star slammed in Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant claim – « Not in him »

That’s the somewhat surprising view of six-time NBA champion Scottie Pippen, who played alongside Jordan for Chicago Bulls.

James is widely considered as the best player currently in the game, with many calling him the greatest of all time.

The Los Angeles Lakers star is fifth on the list of NBA points leaders, with Bryant and Jordan in third and fourth respectively.

But it’s other aspects of Jordan’s game that Pippen believes leaves James trailing way behind. “When I look at LeBron, he’s not what Michael was as a player,” Pippen said.

“He’s not even what Kobe Bryant was as a player.

“When you talk about trying to compare Michael’s instinct, his ability to take over games, his ability to want to have that last shot, LeBron doesn’t have that gene.

“That’s not in him.”

LeBron James has won three NBA titles, compared with Jordan’s six and five for Bryant.

Two of the titles for Lakers star James came with Miami Heat, while he won his third ring with Cleveland Cavaliers in 2016.

And having pulled the Cavs back from a 3-1 deficit to Golden State Warriors, James believes that showed he is the best.

“That one right there made me the greatest player of all time,” James recently said.

“That’s what I felt.

“I was super, super ecstatic to win one for Cleveland because of the 52-year (championship) drought. And then after I stopped (celebrating), I was like, that one right there made you the greatest player of all time.

“Everybody was talking how they were the greatest team ever assembled, and for us to come back the way we came back, I was like, you did something special.

« That was one of the only times in my career I felt like, you did something special.

“I haven’t had much time to sit back and think (about my achievements).

“But that was a moment. »
