After winning the Oscar for Best Animated Short for « Dear Basketball » Kobe Bryant is continuing his television tour by recounting aspects of his professional career after it is over.
During his visit to Jimmy Kimmel Live ( ABC ), the host – also of the Oscars – asked him about his more than hour-long TV conversation with Shaquille O’Neal on TNT . And it focused on when the two players got into a physical argument at practice.
Bryant talks about a practice fight during the 1998/99 season, in which there was a lockout. They were in a practice game at Southwest College.
« He threw the first punch. I see his hands, they’re huge, and I’m thinking, ‘How can I fight this big man?’ Then I hit back and everyone jumped up to separate us. At that point, it must have been like, « You can beat me, but you have to see that I’m not going to back down. »
