Dwyane Wade was on TNT to talk about the death of Kobe Bryant. The Miami Heat legend spoke emotionally about the drama that shook everyone on Sunday, and relayed LeBron James’ feelings about it. The « King » has not yet spoken other than on the networks.

« I’ve talked to LeBron a lot since then. He’s obviously devastated. I asked him what he would say if he were in my shoes on that set. He told me, ‘The media is always trying to pit you and me and all the other great players against Kobe. But what they don’t know is that we were all trying our best to make Kobe proud of us, and to make him respect us. We wanted to win to be on his level. That’s what he represents for guys like LeBron and me. We don’t want that to get lost in the shuffle because everyone always wants to compare us. It’s a brotherhood and Kobe Bryant was the leader of that brotherhood. It’s a huge loss for us. The earth stood still for a day because of his passing. »

When LeBron James and Dwyane Wade arrived in the NBA in 2003, Kobe Bryant and the Lakers had just completed a Three-Peat (2000, 2001, 2002). Neither of them had the opportunity to face the Black Mamba in subsequent NBA Finals.
